When & why should I book a branding photoshoot?

  1. When you are building out a new website. I always recommend having custom photography for new websites. You don’t want to get stuck using generic stock images and outdated headshots across all of your pages.

  2. Before a product or service launch. Are you launching a new course? Podcast? Product line? Service? It might be time for branding photos!

  3. During a rebrand. Are you taking your biz in a new direction? It’s definitely time to get updated photos to reflect your new brand.

  4. If you’ve relocated to a new location. You should definitely get updated photos that reflect your new home.

Pricing & Commonly Asked Questions

  • What props should I bring to my brand shoot?

Props can help to make a scene feel more authentic and help tell your story. Consider adding props to the scene if you need to show what sort of products your company works with or if you need to make an impersonal location feel more realistic.

What props or supporting elements set that scene? For example, if you’re a real estate agent, does it make more sense for you to be holding a folio in a lovely kitchen dressed with flowers, rather than sitting and sipping coffee with a laptop in a cool cafe?

Props might include: flowers, soft furnishings, stationery or books, or your own product or craft.

What to wear for a personal brand photoshoot?

    • Make sure your clothes fit properly and flatter your shape.

    • Aim to have at least a couple of different looks to add variety to your images. This can be as simple as having two different blazers or jackets to swap over two different tops/shirts/dresses.

    • Simple is usually better. Avoid logos and words on shirts (they can be attention grabbing, and they can date your images). Also try to avoid busy patterns and fluorescent or bright colors.

How do I choose a location for my personal brand photos?

Your personal branding photos should take place somewhere that makes you feel relaxed and confident. Think about what locations will captivate your ideal client and tell the right story about your brand. Location ideas include: your office space or workshop (somewhere architectural), local park, your kitchen, lounge or your favorite cafe in town.

    * Depending on the location & space, I will bring appropriate lighting and equipment to achieve the best visual impact as possible.

    * If it’s somewhere public, I (the photographer ) will need to check that you don’t need a permit to shoot there.
